The 32nd Kapunda Celtic Festival
Chairperson’s Welcome
Dear friends,
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 32nd annual Kapunda
Celtic Festival. Kapunda is proud to host Australia’s longest running
annual Celtic gathering of musicians, singers, dancers, buskers, story
tellers and revellers.
This year’s festival promises to be another huge success with a great
line up of performers over the three days. The Kapunda festival, like
all festivals, continues to grow and evolve in seeking new directions
and experiences.
The organising committee is proud to present a range of quality
performers such as Maria Forde, The Gartloney Rats, Tamarisque, Seeing
Orbo, Matsumoto Montz, Creole Cowboyz, Braemar and many more. The
traditional bush dance will be held in the Institute Hall on Saturday
night.
This year we are pleased to announce the formation of new partnerships
with the Greenock Creek Tavern and the Wheat Sheaf Pub at Allendale
North. There will be performances happening at both of these excellent
venues over the weekend. We are also pleased to hold to tradition and
host the much loved Adelaide Celtic Music Club jam session at the Clare
Castle hotel on the Friday night.
As in previous years there will be a singing competition held at the Sir
John Franklin Hotel on Saturday afternoon at 2.30pm. All are welcome to
have a go so please check out the details in this website.
Of course none of this would be possible without the generosity of our
sponsors and patrons. Special thanks goes to Eli and Olive Hambour, Reg
Rawady, We’ll Sign of Nuriootpa, Impact Canopies of Kapunda, Light
Regional Council, Kapunda and Light Tourism Authority, Barossa Music
Centre, Rockford Wines, J.T Johnson and Sons, Mantina Quarries,
Multicultural SA, SA Tourism Commission, Dermody Petroleum, Donovan’s
Earthcare, Perry Electrical and Web South.
On behalf of the 2007 organising committee I wish you a fun filled
Celtic Festival.
Kind regards,
Vicki Philpott
