SINGING COMPETITION

2.  Solo – Unaccompanied                                        * Choice of material                   50

3.  Singer/Songwriter                                                * Accompaniment [if applies]    50
                                                                                * Judges’ discretionary points     60

CONDITIONS

  • ¨       The competition is eligible for all to enter, however only those who have never accepted payment for performance are eligible to win a prize.

  • ¨        Singer/Songwriter may have one musician for accompaniment.

  • ¨        Judges are to preside.  Their decision will be final.

  • ¨        Competitors may be restricted to one song per category, depending on numbers.

  • ¨        A minimum of three entries per category is necessary for a category to run.

  • ¨        3 entries only, 1st prize only.

  • ¨        4 entries, 1st and 2nd prizes only.

  • ¨        5 or more entries, 3 places.

Entry Fee $3.00 -In person on the day, before 2.30 pm.
Competition will be cancelled if there are insufficient entries.
Prizes will be awarded at the Bush Dance on Saturday evening.

 

THE ROB CHARLTON ‘BLACK STUMP’
BUSH VERSE CONTEST

Clare Castle Hotel from 11.30 pm on the Saturday night

The Black Stump is the award in memory of Rob Charlton, a former Kapunda bank manager, who was one of the original instigators of the Kapunda Celtic Festival. It is open to all composer/reciters of poetry in the traditional Australian style.  Judges decision is final.

Organised by the Celtic Music Club of SA, the Contest will be held in the Clare Castle Hotel from 11.30 pm on the Saturday night.
