Adelaide Academy of Irish
Dancing - or
“Celtic Reflections” as they are more commonly known in Kapunda have
delighted numerous audiences in many places with their extremely energetic,
but always accurate, dance routines. They perform traditional and
contemporary Irish Dancing in the true “Riverdance” style.
Adelaide Morris Men –
Traditional English Morris
Dancing, with live acoustic music. Performing dances from the Cotswolds, an
area to the north east of London.
Audreys, The -
When you take Taasha's fallen angel voice and fondness for toy store
instrumentation, add brothers Tristan and Cam on banjos, acoustic and steel
guitars and even a mandocello, throw in Mikey G on the fiddle, plenty of
wistful harmonies, songs that swing from the foot stomping to the mournful
and beguiling in an instant and one big yellow kombi ... then you've got The
Audreys. Fresh from Womadelaide.
Beenies, The -
The Beenies combine original tunes and songs with Irish and Australian folk
music to which they bring pure vocal harmonies and multi instrumental
skills. Their brand new album shows that they continue to grow and to take
the Australian folk scene by storm.
The
Celtic Music Club of South Australia
– The club maintains a strong connection with the Celtic Traditions. To be
seen on the stage, in the sessions and as the host to the bush dance on the
Saturday night.
City
of Eliabeth Pipe Band, The
- formed in 1965, this is the Pipe Band’s first performance at Kapunda. The
band has competed with distinction both locally and interstate winning many
prizes in it’s time.
Fiddle Chicks, The
– Kim, Sonya & Dee will play
music from different fiddle traditions & styles, including celtic,
bluegrass, gypsy, jazz, Bulgarian & blues.
Garrick-Stewart School of Highland Dancing
– Favourite performers each year, Leonie Burgess’s students will perform
traditional Scottish Dance.
Jack
Brennan Band -
Eillean Piper and whistle player, Jack with accompanists will perform mainly
traditional Celtic tunes with a slight jazz influence. A highly regarded
piper with many years experience.
Junior –
“Remarkably heartfelt stories of real life Australiana, this band's gift for

Junior's new Album 'Time in the Sun' reflects on the complexities of
relationships and the human experience, their mix of passion, melody and
harmony add up to a powerful acoustic experience.
Lindi-Jane –
Comic puppeteer & ventriloquist, Lindi-Jane has performed around Australia.
Award winning Children’s performer.
Maureen Morris Country Dancers
– Teaming up with
Tamarisque for a lively dance set, Maureen’s dancers have been enthusiastic
supporters of Kapunda and always a crowd favourite.
Matsumoto Montz
- Original songs in Japanese with 5 string banjo and guitar, with many
different influences such as Bluegrass, Irish, Asian etc as well as
Appalachian fiddle tunes, banjo breakdowns, jigs & reels.
Miller Academy of Irish
Dancers
– The principal,
Jackie Miller has been actively teaching Irish Dancing over the last 20
years and her high standards has seen the school enjoy many successes at a
State, National and International level both in the Solo and Teams
championships.
Jay Morfey & Friends–
Jay with a little help from his friends will be presenting a workshop on
unaccompanied singing in the Celtic tradition.
Nataleigh –
former Kapunda resident Nataleigh’s performance will be a blend of folk &
pop with a twist of country. Catchy melodies & rich vocals.
One
Voice - a small
dedicated Christian music/ vocal group from Nuriootpa playing a wide range
of material mostly from the ‘Belfast Revival’. Presenting a collection of
modern worship songs based on the rich history of Irish Folk music & celtic
spirituality.
Glen
Parsons - A
regular at Kapunda for 20 years, Glen from Loxton will sing and promote his
new CD, Riverboats and Rivermen.
Raglan Road - a
Celtic band with a difference. Traditional Irish tunes & Ballads with a
twist of jazz, blues & soft rock.
Seeing Orbo -
folk fusion, world music, rock, blues, folk & pop. From harmonic singing to
sweet harmonies, from the familiar to the exotic.
Southern Districts Pipes & Drums
- No strangers to Kapunda,
this fine pipe band is in constant demand at events all over South
Australia. You will see and hear them and your souls will be stirred by
this historic musical tradition.
Tamarisque - have
been that ever-popular duo of Janet & Hugh Gordon who have delighted
audiences all over SA. Expect lively jigs & reels on fiddle plus haunting
Celtic songs and tunes on violin & mandolin. Look for their combined
presentation with the Maureen Morris Scottish Dancers.
