CATEGORIES JUDGING CRITERIA  
1.  Solo – Self accompanied * Ability to carry a tune 100
  * Presentation  70
2.  Solo – Unaccompanied * Choice of material 50
  * Clarity  100
3.  Singer/Songwriter * Accompaniment [if applies] 50
  * Judges’ discretionary points 60

CONDITIONS

The competition is eligible for all to enter, however only those who have never accepted payment for performance are eligible to win a prize.
Singer/Songwriter may have one musician for accompaniment.
Judges are to preside.  Their decision will be final.
Competitors may be restricted to one song per category, depending on numbers.
A minimum of three entries per category is necessary for a category to run.
3 entries only, 1st prize only.
4 entries, 1st and 2nd prizes only.
5 or more entries, 3 places.

Entry Fee $3.00 -In person on the day, before 2.30 pm.

Competition will be cancelled if there are insufficient entries.
Prizes will be awarded at the Bush Dance on Saturday evening.

THE ROB CHARLTON ‘BLACK STUMP’ BUSH VERSE CONTEST

The Black Stump is the award in memory of Rob Charlton, a former Kapunda bank manager, who was one of the original instigators of the Kapunda Celtic Festival. It is open to all composer/reciters of poetry in the traditional Australian style.  Judges decision is final.

Organised by the Celtic Music Club of SA, the Contest will be held in the Clare Castle Hotel from 11.30 pm on the Saturday night.

Workshops:
Bob Carlin (USA) Saturday       12.30 pm American Banjo Styles
Sunday           11.30 pm Old Time Banjo
Jay Morfey & Friends Saturday        1.30 pm Unaccompanied Singing in the Celtic Tradition. Audience participation encouraged.

Stalls (Sat & Sun):
A wide range of Arts & Crafts.

Kapunda Historical Museum:
Housed in the former Baptist Church (1866) the Historical Museum is one of the finest regional museums in Australia. Saturday & Sunday 1.00pm to 5.00pm. Entry is free to all festival patrons.

A Festival of Flowers & Art:
All Things Bright & Beautiful, Christ Church, Kapunda
Saturday 9.00am to 4.00pm           Sunday 10.30am to 4.00pm
Adults $2      Children Free             Price Includes Refreshments

Kapunda Community Gallery:
Featured artist Vesna Rozman.
Saturday & Sunday 10.00am to 5.00pm

Greens Film Night:
Looking for something different on the Saturday night, the Wakefield Greens are holding a film & discussion night at the CWA Hall, Main Street at 7.30pm The film they will be showing is Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11. For further information or pre-booking call Keith on 8566 2789 or Jacqui on 0417 812 206. A $5 donation would be appreciated.

Food & Drink:
A range of food outlets from sit down to barbecue as well as bar facilities, soft drinks, tea & coffee throughout the weekend.
